Description: The Green Tortoise beetle (Cassida compuncta) is found in tropical & sub-tropical rainforest areas, along the Queensland Coastal region of Australia. It is 4mm in length, with an ovate shaped body and a broadly extended prothorax. The body of the Green Tortoise Beetle (Cassida compuncta) is green and the wings have gold patterns on a deep brown background. The gold patterns vary between individuals. The Green Tortoise Beetle is most active during summer & feeds on Mile-a-minute (Ipomoea cairica) a weed found in rainforest areas of Australia.
